About Emma

High-tech tomatoes. Mysterious milk. Supersquash. Are we supposed to eat this stuff? Or is it going to eat us?
-Annita Manning

Emma believes in keeping nutrition simple, and tries to cut through the jargon that often surrounds the nutrition and diet industry.

She has a passion for nutrition, particularly in weight management and has completed an Open University course entitled "Challenging Obesity" and has attended "Tackling the Obesity Time-Bomb" conference to ensure her knowledge is constantly updated with the latest developments.

She believes that encouraging people to make a series of small and manageable lifestyle changes is the key to longer term health gains. Making smaller changes encourage people to form long-term sustainable habits, rather than making sweeping lifestyle changes. Big short-term changes results in short term weight loss followed by longer term weight gain and weight-cycling behaviour which is more damaging physically and psychologically.

She has experience in presenting information to a wide variety of audiences, most recently being Telegraph Slimmers. This was a Grimsby and Scunthorpe Media Group slimming initiative for which she was the consultant nutritionist.

Make a decision to think of food as nourishment instead of entertainment. Eat what your body needs, not what your taste buds desire.
